A show can be on one streaming service today, somewhere else next month, available only to rent, or temporarily unavailable altogether.

When that happens, it can feel as though something has gone wrong with your television, app, or account. Often, nothing is broken. The viewing rights have simply changed.

A streaming service is not always a show’s permanent home. It is better to think of it as the current shelf where that program is available.

The show may stay exactly the same while its address changes.

If something disappears, try searching from your television’s main screen, checking another streaming service, or looking for rental or purchase options. And before starting another subscription, check whether there is a simpler way to watch what you want.
